2024 School Counselor of the Year

Congratulations Elisa Harrison!

  Hello!

My name is Elisa Harrison.  I was born and raised in Southeastern Idaho, and moved to Wyoming to access better employment opportunities for me and my husband, and better educational opportunities for my children.  I am now blessed to call Wyoming HOME. My family has grown considerably since moving here.  I am lucky to be a mom to 4, mother - in - law to 2, permanent foster to 2 more, and grandma to 1.

I love being a school counselor.  I love seeing students with big shoulders and big hearts take ownership of their lives, overcome hardship and make good lives for themselves.  The most valuable lesson I have learned in my professional life would be to take it day by day, to believe in the best of the students you are working with, even if they don’t believe in the best of themselves.  If you truly knew me, you would know that Kevin, the therapy dog I take to school, is my superpower!
